PROJECT DESCRIPTION

This presentation will present a business case for introducing new set of technologies (e.g. DB, ETL, BI) into an organization with pretty outdated technology suite.

It should explain the following:
- Current state
- Identified gaps
- Future state (with the new technologies)
- Potential solutions
- Roadmap to implement by time, budget, effort (people, hours)

I've included a typical white paper on Big Data, and its benefits. My request is how to take the benefits of something articulated in various whitepapers like this and make the sell to the Business on the following:
- Incremental spend
- Change in comfort in the "old way" of doing things (technology wise)

I typically do a maturity curve (kind of like CMM), showing the current state functionality and level of business value, and then the future state with newer benefits and the higher level of perceived value. What typically catches me is that management doesn't want an incremental spend, so the time to achieve the new value is stretched out (i.e. if they spend $10 today they can have it in X months, if they try to use existing resources will take 10x months to achieve the results).
