PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Context
Company A took a decision some time back that it will cost them X to run some operations based on assumption A, B and C.

Complication
Situation has changed now and those assumptions are no more true. Neither of those assumptions turned out to be true and there is a big question mark around whether company A should continue to invest in this project.

Question:
Should we continue to invest in project. What are the different options

Answer:
Presentation of Options:
Option A - Base case. For company to get similar returns as assumed in the business case, following mutually exclusive assumptions need to come true:
-Number of customer orders need to increase from 10 per day to 200 per day
-Value of customer order need to increase from £20 to £130 per order
- Staff productivity needs to increase from 10 processed orders per day per staff to 75 processed orders per day per staff

Option B - Costs go up and NPV goes down changing the assumptions above
Option C- Outsourcing
Option D - Mixture of outsourcing and improving efficiency
